namely Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
In 1979, the name was changed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to emphasize the importance of cooperative movement in agricultural production.
The Ministry at present has 8 nos Department, 2 nos. Units and 4 nos. Parastatals under its supervision. The Departments are:

All the Departments are headed by Directors, the Units by Grade Level 14 officers and the Parastatals by General Managers. They all report to the Honourable Commissioner through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
